The PAT test, as it is known, carries out regular checks, inspections and tests on electrical equipment used in workplaces to prevent the danger of injuries to staff caused by faulty appliances.
It is an often an overlooked fact that business owners of all sizes must ensure that the electrical products used in their workplace do not pose a safety risk to those that use them. This means that employers must ensure that all electrical work equipment is safe, suitable for purpose and properly maintained in good order – with the penalties for an electrical accident including a heavy fine or even a prison sentence.”
The safety measures extend to anything with a mains plug connected to a socket, from electrical kettles, power tools and cleaning equipment to PCs and photocopiers.
Our new electrical checking, inspection and testing programmes will identify any risks, confirm that in-built safety measures in electrical items remain effective and enable any faulty appliances to be removed for repair or replacement.
As well as facing damaging penalties from the HSE, those companies that fail to take preventative maintenance seriously not only put their employees and customers at risk, but may also invalidate their commercial insurance policies and liability protection.
